Reception 2019 - 2020

Welcome to Reception

with Mr Clarke, Mrs Smith, Mrs Berks

Wednesday Mrs Berks

Midday Supervisor - Mrs Gabbitas

The children will take part in regular outdoor and indoor activities and will have access to the outside learning area throughout the day.

Morning snacktime is provided at 10:15 inline with Key Stage One. The children are offered toast and milk and fruit is provided for children who do not wish to have toast. The children enjoy this in the classroom or outside as a communal activity. Afternoon snack is available to the children when and if they are hungry..

P.E. is on a Thursday morning. Please make sure your child's P.E. kit is in school at the start of the week and that all items are labelled with your child's name.

Most of the children's learning will take place through child initiated activities, following their interests in the moment. Some activities are planned in advance which we will share with you on the weekly newsletter, however  the children's interests can often take us in all sorts of directions, so please check Tapestry to see what we have been doing in Reception.

Our main focus this half term is 'Getting to know you,' (see the document for download). We will be sharing our classroom routines and supporting the children in making initial relationships with their peers as well as building the foundations for positive adult interactions. We will be encouraging the children to talk about their homes and families and there will be the opportunity for them to share items which are special to them.
