Harvest week

This week in Reception, the children have explored many different vegetables. We heard the story 'Supertato' by Sue Hendra and then made our own super hero potatoes. The children had some very imaginative ideas, such as 'broccoli power to make it go really fast'. After reading Handa's Suprise, the children were interested to try new fruits and vegetables so we tasted avocado in class and everybody helped to make a vegetable soup. It was delicious! We even made an apple crumble using home grown apples.

A few of the children decided to be hairdressers this week so they set up a salon and booked people in for appointments. The staff were very pleased with their new hair styles and make overs! We also had some great team work in the marble factory on Monday with children investigating ways to extend and adpat the marble run. It has been a fantastic end to the first half term in Reception. We are all looking forward to our exciting new learning journey when we return.
