Wonder Book Review

Wonder is a magical, heart-warming adventure by R.J. Palacio about a deformed young boy called August Pullman. In this exciting read, Auggie’s parents decide that he needs to attend a school for the first time. After a while, they finally convince him to go and meet the headmaster, Mr. Tushman. Auggie soon settles in to his new school, making both friends and enemies along the way.

Palacio has created an outstanding book with twists and turns throughout it. The power and realism of this book is mind-blowing. The detailed descriptions really paint a picture in your mind which allows you to relate to the story.

I recommend this book to older readers (10+) because some of the content could be upsetting to younger readers. Overall, I rate this book 5 stars because it’s unlike anything I have ever read before.

As soon as I began reading Wonder, I was completely engaged and lost in the thought provoking story. I really like Palacio’s use of words and description because it really draws you in and you are unable to close the book. I like how she used various perspectives to enrich the narrative.

I thought the book was brilliant. It should become a modern classic.
