Chinese New Year

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Nursery Year: 2017 - 2018

We celebrated Chinese New Year in Nursery by taking part in lots of different activities. We explored rice and noodles. We put the noodles in warm water and observed what happened to them. We had a go at writing Chinese words. We watched a dragon dance as part of the celebrations and then made our own dance. We followed a trail around the outdoor area and tried to find all of the animals from the Chinese zodiac. At snack time we tried some Chinese food - prawn crackers, vegetable samosas and noodles.
