Year 5 - Our Space Topic

Date: 2nd Feb 2016 @ 6:22pm

In Year Five we have been learning all about our topic of 'Space.' We have enjoyed finding out lots of interesting facts. We have also been following Tim Peake and his mission to the International Space Station. Today we were able to watch him live from space talking to school children. We were one of 7000 school watching. We learnt some amazing things about what it is like in space. It was really cool to see the things he could do with water. Watching Tim and learning about his space adventures has made us even more interested in space and science.

Thank you Tim Peake.

In Year Five we have been learning about the different planets in space. We worked in groups and used toilet roll to show the distances of the planets to the sun. Here are some pictures. Each piece of toilet roll represents 100 000 000 km. (We even did the maths to work out these huge distances!)
